Most marketing content this year was slop

I will say what nobody in marketing wants to. Most of what got published this year was slop, and the feed is drowning in it.

Slop is AI output that looks like work and moves nothing. Forty percent of workers got handed exactly that last month, and the wasted time costs a ten-thousand-person company around nine million a year. Marketers are pouring the same machine-made filler into the feed just to hit a content quota.

If your content felt invisible this year, this is why. You are not competing with great work. You are buried under an ocean of average that all sounds the same.

The part that helps you

When everyone sounds like a machine, one real human with an actual point of view is the rarest thing in the feed. The slop is not your competition. It is your opening, because it sets a floor so low that anything genuinely human stands out.

The move

Stop trying to out-produce the machine and start out-humaning it. Say one thing this week that an AI never would: a real opinion, a specific story, a stance you would actually defend.

What is the one take you have been softening that you should just say plainly?
