Go ask AI to recommend your category

Open ChatGPT right now and ask it to recommend a tool in your category.

Open ChatGPT and ask it to recommend a tool in your category.

If your name is not in the answer, you have a pipeline problem, not a vanity one.

That answer is where a growing share of buyers now start. Whoever the model names gets the shortlist. Everyone else gets skipped.

One prompt is not a measurement, though. Test three:

- the comparison ('X vs Y') - the verdict ('is X any good') - the switch ('alternative to X')

Wherever you are missing from the answer, that is your findability target for the month.

You cannot become the answer until you have written down what the answer is, in your buyer's words.

Have you actually checked what AI says about you, or are you guessing?

The move. Run the 3 buyer prompts (comparison, verdict, switch) through ChatGPT; wherever you're missing from the answer is this month's findability target.

AI visibility = share of voice + citation rate + recommendation rank. Because AI search is probabilistic, measure prompt groups (a core prompt + 6-12 variations), not single keywords. Reach method: pick the 3 prompts a buyer asks an AI before buying; wherever you're missing from the answer is your target. You can't be the answer if you haven't written down what the answer is, in the buyer's words.
